Rejected Angel?

AUBRI

And Aubri was her name,
A not so very ordinary girl or name.
But who's to blame?

For the love that wouldn't bloom
For the hearts that never played in tune.
Like a lovely melody that everyone can sing,
Take away the hearts that rhyme it doesn't mean a thing.

And Aubri was her name.
We tripped the light and danced together to the moon,
But where were they.

No they never came around.
If they did, they never made a sound,
Maybe they were absent or were visiting to fast,

Hearing words of love, but then the meaning going past,
And how they miss the girl,
And they’d go a thousand times around the world just to be
Close enough to her just to see.

And Aubri was her name,
They never saw her, but they “loved her just the same,”
They played the game.

I wish that they had found a way
And the reasons that would make ‘em stay.
I have learned to lead a life apart from all the rest.
If she can't have the ones she wants, we'll do without the best.

And how they miss the girl
And they’d go a million times around the world just to say
She had been theirs for a day.

Too often it is the innocent who must pay the biggest price.
